Tsukiji Fish Markets may be overrun with tourists these days, but it still makes for a great day of good food. It's basically just rows upon rows of outdoor stalls selling everything from fresh oysters to 'ichigo daifuku' (strawberry, adzuki beans and mochi).

I made a beeline for the fried stuff. The fried food variety just blew my mind.
The fried food stands take up a large portion of the real estate in the outside market. Their impressive display cabinets offer viewings of freshly fried chicken karaage, grilled octopus, dried squid, and a plethora of different fish cake varieties (seasoned with black pepper, cheese, edamame, etc).
The oyster selection here is supreme. They offer oysters ranging from the size of a scallop to ones the size of your palm. They're insane! Tony tried one of the palm-size oysters (around 650 yen), and he struggled to fit it all in his mouth.

Huge oysters...so huge.

No photos allowed inside the indoor fish market :( But one old fish monger beckoned us over to show us a massive fish he had. He was super proud. He even gestured for the tourists to take pictures with it, he really dngaf.

Tsukiji Fish Markets - Second Round

MASA Fish Burger - We tried the salmon and the barramundi, and the barramundi one was delicious! Super fresh with a soft, unchallenging batter. The salmon, however, was a bit flakey (and had a really fresh ocean smell to it - a bit too fresh).

We also had crab meat sticks in a special sauce, ichigo daifuku, fresh onigiri, more fried squid and more fried corn fish cake sticks.
